The VAT Lady

The VAT Lady is a division of Runciman Hughes Associates Ltd. Company Number: 6781806. The VAT Lady will be referred to in this document as TVL.

Booking procedure

You can book online at www.thevatlady.co.uk/courses

Alternatively, please complete the downloadable booking form found here and fax to 01273 37115

Booking Confirmation

Once we have received your booking form, we will send you an email with an invoice.


Payment must be received at the time of booking either by:

  1. Using the payment link on the website which will take you to a secure online payment area
  2. By calling 0845 6344 785 to make a payment over the ‘phone with a credit or debit card. Credit card details via email will not be accepted under any circumstances.
  3. By BACS to Runciman Hughes Associates, Lloyds TSB, sort code 30-18-30, account number 02239319.

PLEASE NOTE: Your place on any course is not confirmed until full payment has been received. Each course has a limited number of places so we operate a ‘first paid first confirmed’ policy. If you make a booking and don’t pay immediately you risk your place being taken by another person.

Fee Guidance

All TVL courses listed in the programme are subject to VAT at 20%. Course fees include all relevant course materials. Unless listed, please provide your own refreshments and lunch.

We do not currently offer assisted or discounted places.

Special requirements

TVL will make every effort to accommodate special requirements that have been notified on the booking form.

Joining Instructions

Joining instructions including an outline of the day, venue details, map and local hotel details will be sent no less than 5 days before your course, unless you are a late addition to a course. If you have not received your joining instructions three days prior to the training course, please call 01444 457 753. TVL will not be held responsible for non-receipt of joining instructions and refunds will not be issued under such circumstances.

Course transfers

If you need to transfer your place on a course to another course there is a 20% of the course fee (plus VAT) administration charge. You are only permitted to transfer your place once. You must notify TVL by email at: ca@thevatlady.co.uk of your wish to transfer at least 5 working days before the original course date. TVL cannot be held responsible if places are not available on the course date you wish to transfer to. You will receive an email letting you know if the transfer is possible and the 20% (plus VAT) administration charge must be paid before the transfer can take place. No refund will be made in the event of a transfer.

Purchasing or Reproducing Teaching Notes

Purchasing or reproducing teaching notes, course manual, course guide is not permitted under any circumstances. It is also not permitted to use the teaching notes, course manual or course guide in order to run your own training for other members or staff, colleagues or friends.


Details of the specific venue used will be sent in the joining instructions for all courses.

Dress code

As the courses are held in a business environment, the dress code is smart casual.


TVL  does not accept responsibility for anyone acting as a result of information or views expressed on its training courses including course material. Opinions expressed are those of individual trainers and not necessarily those of TVL. Participants should take professional advice when dealing with specific situations.

Refund Policy

Cancelling your place

Refunds are not given if you wish to cancel your place within 14 days prior to the course date.  After this date you may transfer (once) to a new course or elect a substitute attendee.


If you fail to attend the course on which you are booked and have not given prior notice to TVL  then the course fee will remain payable in full.

Cancellation by TVL

Where circumstances dictate, TVL reserves the right to alter published programmes, trainers, fees or venues without prior notice. In the event of a course being cancelled, a refund of the course fee will be made but no compensation will be paid for any additional costs incurred.

It will be at the discretion of the the TVL management to override the above refund policy due to exceptional circumstances.
